Pediped Shoes

Pediped shoes are just the best shoes for toddlers and babies..they're just all the rage in hollywood most celebrity kids seem to be wearing them.
I was having such a hard time finding good shoes for my baby to wear since everything he wore kept dislodging it self and ending up on some supermarket floor..lost..ending in me having to pay for a new pair. Until I bought a pair of Pedipeds....Soft..pliable and even with my lil rascal swinging his feet away they never fell off his lil feet.

This was for an order, a Xmas gift from Pediped in Thailand...P.s Pediped can be found in Paragon etc...take it from me its definitely worth the money!!!

Strawberry Charlotte Shortcake

This cake is filled with strawberries layered with my special whipped cream on soft layers of shortcake. I wanted to decorate it differently so opted for a charlotte inspired styled cake. A gold ribbon was just the right adornment since this cake was an order for their dad's birthday.

Butterscotch Chantilly Crepe

Saturday night at home with nothing delicious for dessert...well that wasnt the case for us tonight. I made a light french crepe rolled it up with bananas, chantilly cream and homemade butterscotch sauce. We were going to take pictures of it sliced up...then realised that we both finished the crepes before we had taken the pictures... sinfully delicious

Strawberry Shortcake

My quest for the perfect strawberry shortcake recipe...I've been trying hard to find a recipe for japanese sponge or shortcake. After many trials and errors i think this may be closest..it's fluffy but a little different since it has crumbly edges, giving the cake some texture...I'll post some more pictures of my other shortcakes soon.

Daring Bakers Tender Potatoe Bread Challenge

I had made bread before three times and all those times the bread turned out either under cooked, had no taste or extremely hard. When I read what this month's challenge was i was quite apprehensive.
I followed the recipe step by step only omitting the wheat flour ( which I thought I had bought but apparently did not)...
I must admit the bread turned out surprisingly like a crusty french baguette. Crunchy on the out side but soft with bits of potatoes hidden.
Great recipe one for keeps!

Lily Cupcakes

Purple cupcakes are so pretty...like lillies floating in a pond..

Red Velvet Cupcakes

I've always wanted to know how red velvet cake tasted like but quite frankly I never had the guts to try it out until now. I came across many recipes some adding bottles of red food colouring to the batter...Frankly that scared the ...out of me. Food coloring in vast amounts must be toxic!Or perhaps eating the cake might turn ur tongue red?

Well I made these cupcakes from a recipe that required the use of 2 tbsps of food colouring. They turned out pretty red once i sliced them in half they were moist and looked like velvet.

Taste wise they remind me of a cocoa cake.I think they'll make beautiful xmas cupcakes with ribbons tied around the paper cups.

Very pretty in pink

This was my first time using icing fondant...The results are pretty and cute.I hope it tastes as good as buttercream though.
Vanilla cupcakes always look good dressed with pink frosting. I don't know what it is but if you had cupcakes on a plate in all shades of pastels...i'd definitely go for the pink ones first. I love pink.

Bostini Cream Cake

I am officially a daring baker! I have completed my first baking challenge...Bostini Cream Cake.
This cake is consists of orange chiffon cake sitting on a bed of creamy custard and drizzled with warm chocolate sauce.

I really love custard especially with crumbles etc.. I have never tried it with chocolate sauce before and must say that they go together really well. Thankyou Mary of Alpineberry for finding a simple yet delicious dessert that can be made for a dinner party gathering or just to enjoy on your own!

I'll be making this cake again and perhaps next time be using some tropical fruit for the cake for an asian twist....looking forward to next months challenge!

Profiteroles

I love choux buns....these had three different fillings, vanilla icecream, light creme patissier and whipped cream. They were delicious. I dipped each in milk chocolate glaze and served it with dollops of vanilla icecream.
